Workshops

I want ceramics to be inclusive to all, giving others an inspiring space and opportunity to be creative with clay. Letting people take a leap into becoming a maker, engage with their ideas, and discover how creativity benefits mental health and well-being.

I am a great advocate of mental health awareness and know first-hand how much creativity can help. Finding time for yourself is an essential act of self-care, offering relief from daily pressures and stress.

You may feel, “I’m not very creative,” but the process often reveals hidden talents, leading to the creation of personal, unique pieces. Give yourself permission to be creative—you’ll be amazed at what you can achieve!

Workshop Testimonials

“It’s like having a therapy session every week, where you can do things in a structured way, or potter about like me always under Shelley’s watchful eye. Always there to teach, encourage and make a brew – fabulous.”

Christine

“Shelley is such a talent and very generous with her knowledge and time. Her classes are fun and relaxed with no pressure to be perfect. You are free to take the clay where it wants to go while having expert guidance when needed. Personally, the class offers me much-needed respite from a demanding job that can be mentally tiring. My brain gets to rest while I lose myself in something completely different with no expectations on myself to be perfect (although I’m often pleasantly surprised with what comes out of the kiln).”

Kay

“Shelley’s love of clay is infectious, and her encouragement, knowledge, and guidance give you the confidence to create something. No matter how big or small, she is as proud of the piece as you are – thank you, Shelley.”

Mindfulness with Clay

I run workshops in a relaxed, friendly, and creative environment—the perfect place to take some “me time,” meet new people, and explore your creativity.

The hand-building workshops focus on a mix of functional and sculptural pieces. Whether you are a complete beginner or an experienced potter, my studio is a welcoming space where you can learn and grow without judgment. I will always be on hand to guide and support you through each session.
